Australian OSINT Symposium 2025

Building Enduring OSINT Capability

AOS2025 brought together a global community of practitioners, analysts, and decision-makers to explore how open-source intelligence is applied in real-world environments. Across two days in Sydney and a series of virtual training sessions, the Symposium focused on strengthening how OSINT capability is built, sustained, and applied.

RECAP

A Symposium Focused on Capability, Collaboration, and Real-World Application

Thank you to the 400+ attendees and our speakers, panelists and contributors who made AOS2025 a meaningful and engaging event.

AOS2025 combined virtual training, practitioner-led sessions and in-person discussions to explore how OSINT is applied across diverse operational contexts. From structured analysis and emerging technologies to real-world case studies and lessons learned, participants engaged with the practical realities of building and sustaining OSINT capability.

Across the two-day program, conversations extended beyond tools and techniques—focusing on how OSINT supports decision-making, adapts to change and delivers measurable impact in complex environments.

AOS2025 Focused on Three Core Areas of Capability Building

  1. Building Human Capability

Equipping analysts and teams with the skills, judgment, and tradecraft required to navigate complex information environments and apply OSINT effectively in practice.

  2. Sustaining Capability Through Technological Change

Exploring how OSINT capability can remain resilient and adaptable as technology evolves—ensuring tools, processes and approaches continue to support operational needs.

  3. Measuring Real-World Impact

Demonstrating how OSINT contributes to tangible outcomes—supporting decisions, reducing risk, and strengthening operational effectiveness across sectors.
